How To Win Over People Without Ever Making A Sales Pitch
Written by bmlengel on December 16th, 2009
No one enjoys a sales pitch. People are able to see a sales pitch from a mile away. And you can be sure that there is no better way to upset people. Going immediately to a pitch is the worst way to form a relationship with someone. It invades their space and time.
Rather than going instantly to a sales pitch try the “un-sales” pitch. The un-sales pitch is all about providing useful information to help others which creates trust and increases your traffic. When a visitor comes to your site and inquires about a your business and how to get involved, instead of launching into a typical sales pitch, you want to engage them on the site, and find out what their goals are. You intend to build a relationship that will bring more referrals, instead of one quick sale or turning them off so they leave feeling pressured.
People tend to be quick to walk away from a home networking business. Leading off with a sales pitch without developing the relationship will usually lead to rejection. The point of network marketing is to brand yourself as a lead and to develop strong relationships with people. The more information you can provide on your site that is useful to them without trying to get them to join, the more likely they will visit your site more often and eventually join of their own accord.
If you are not sure what to put on your website try writing “how to” articles. People that are in home businesses are always looking for help to grow their business and “how to” articles are a great way to get them to come back to your website on a repeat basis. Providing these kinds of articles can build a huge fan base of people who trust and respect what you have to say and are more likely to buy products you recommend or join your business. You also want to try to get people to interact with you and a great way to do that is by letting people post comments about your information. Always check your comments section to reply to comments to build a rapport with readers.
You are attempting to educate them about how network marketing can help them in the same way it did you. When you first starting talking to someone they are going to have a lot of questions about how all of this will benefit them and how much money they can make. There are many questions and concerns people are going to have and it’s your job to answer them without adding any pressure. Other concerns may be that they believe they are not good at marketing. They do not think they have enough friends or contacts. If your articles can show them how to simply do it and be successful, you will have a believer.
Network marketing can be a lucrative business and the more followers you have on your site, the more likely you can build your down line with actual members who are making money for you.
